Marilyn Velásquez Alvarado

Founder and Director

I studied Tourism to develop community-based and socially responsible tourism, supporting communities in creating their ventures through technical assistance and designing unique trips across northern Peru. For 10 years, I was the CEO and founder of a prominent café in Chachapoyas, Café Fusiones. Since 2007, I have been working in community tourism planning, leading Nuevos Caminos Travel, and designing transformative and regenerative travel experiences.
In 2017, I moved to Spain with my family, where I continue to create authentic escapes to my home region, Amazonas. I travel to Peru once or twice a year to oversee the projects we support and find new opportunities that can be integrated into our trips.
Living in Seville has allowed me to explore many aspects of my personal and professional development, such as family constellations, earning my certification as a mindfulness instructor, creating my Inka mandalas, and learning more about purpose-driven businesses. I’ve successfully incorporated all of these elements into the journeys I organize in Amazonas, northern Peru, and into the guidance I provide to local entrepreneurs.
I represent a style of travel that deepens and strengthens self-discovery while offering a sustainable and responsible way to experience places and cultures.

Francisco Javier Delgado Carranza

Co-Founder and Director

With an adventurous spirit, a love for travel, and a passion for sports, his life is deeply connected to teaching and instilling values through outdoor physical activities. Humble and grounded, he lives a simple life surrounded by those he loves. He cherishes his journey and knows his path. 

In 2010, I arrived in Leymebamba as the coordinator of an educational project developed by the University of Seville in collaboration with the University of Chachapoyas. I stayed for three years, after which the Ministry of Education hired me as a national physical education trainer for an additional five years.

Amazonas won me over with its warm people, exceptional cuisine, and countless tourist destinations. Everywhere I visited, I encountered archaeological remains or incredible cultural heritage waiting to be experienced. In 2011, I joined Nuevos Caminos Travel as a partner.

Through Nuevos Caminos Travel, I’ve had the chance to visit Machu Picchu and Lake Titicaca. But if I had to choose one favorite region, it would undoubtedly be Amazonas, Tarapoto, and its surroundings. This is an extraordinary destination where you’ll uncover a unique culture and be captivated by breathtaking landscapes.
