Responsible Tourism Exchange

Created in 2020, during the uncertain and challenging times brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Responsible Tourism Exchange emerged as a response from Nuevos Caminos Travel to take action. Collaborating with our strategic partners, we focused on sharing knowledge and experiences to ensure that the Amazonas region could move forward with strength and sustainability.

Key Priorities Addressed:

• Ensuring the visibility of communities and local enterprises on social media.
• Rebuilding and strengthening trust between communities and travelers.
• Supporting the implementation of biosecurity protocols.
• Developing sustainability criteria for all providers involved in community tourism.
• Analyzing post-COVID traveler preferences and behaviors.

 

Strategic Partners:

As of 2024, we have decided to integrate our volunteer and internship programs, which have been in place for over 10 years, with this initiative. Our aim is to support local entrepreneurs and responsible tourism companies across our region.

This program continues to drive sustainable development and strengthen connections between communities, businesses, and travelers, ensuring a regenerative and forward-thinking approach to tourism in Amazonas.
