Chaparrí, an example to enjoy!
Chaparrí is a conservation area managed by a rural community located in the dry forests of northern Peru. It’s a great place to see wildlife and birds, or just to relax. Tourists can visit the Serpentarium or go to the rescue centre for the Spectacled Bear with a local guide and see the bears in their natural habitat. This area is also home to the Coastal Fox, the Guan and Hummingbirds among others and it is possible to learn more about these endangered animals here.
Within the conservation area is the Eco-lodge Chaparrí which has traditional architecture made with local materials like adobe and stone to make sure that it blends into the natural environment. Around Chaparrí there are areas where you can swim in the pool, relax in a hammock or just sit and enjoy the view.
